Tuwe Bora

Kenya

Tuwe Bora, founded by Linda Sigilai, is a Kenyan social enterprise leveraging fashion as a catalyst for environmental and social transformation. The company addresses the environmental impact of fast fashion by up-cycling industrial waste and discarded textiles into high-quality garments, embedding circular economy principles at the core of its operations. Beyond production, Tuwe Bora is deeply committed to community empowerment. The enterprise provides vocational training and entrepreneurship support to formerly incarcerated women and unemployed youth, equipping them with practical skills and pathways to dignified employment or self-employment. To date, it has supported hundreds of individuals in building sustainable livelihoods and progressing toward economic independence. By combining ethical fashion, waste reduction, and inclusive skills development, Tuwe Bora is building a scalable model that reduces environmental harm while creating lasting social impact and advancing a more regenerative and inclusive economy.

Tuwe Bora will use RAMA Impact’s support to scale its impact by up-cycling 5 tonnes of industrial and textile waste (preventing approximately 10 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent emissions), empowering economically an additional 25 women and youth, increasing its revenue by 35% over a period of 8 months.
